But if you read the diaries of Ben Gorion and other Zionist leaders at that time you will discover that partition for Zionists was only temporary until they build up strong army to conquer the entire country. That was exactly what happened. Israel attacked and captured (or liberated as Ben Gorion called it) Arab territories under UN181 and started expelling Palestinians before Arab armies attacked.
